DESCRIPTION:
EPW - Movado, Swiss, 41mm, platinum OF original case with satin finish to rear, silvered dial with applied diamond set numerals and indices, SW-SS, lever escapement, 17J, spotted pattern nickel damascene, s#55544 within case. Comes with a fitted leather "Grand Prix Berne 1914 Telefame" marked leather box, and comes with an elegant 14.5-inch 18K white gold chain having three inset sapphires. CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, mild toning of plates, patch of mild pitting to surface finish below "Movado" marking, small patch of scratching at perimeter of larger winding wheel where it appears someone attempted to scrape an oxide spot, few small specks of oxide elsewhere to steelwork, mvt with small bit of play within case; dial with scattered surface spotting, some darkening at areas of perimeter which is most notable outside 2 where there is also some associated flaking of surface finish; excellent hour and seconds-hand with hour having small bit of oxide to tip, poor minute hand with rusted tip; case shows hardly any wear, small nick to lower right edge of rear, no dents or dings; tight bow with fine scratches to its upper portion, crown shows very little wear; good glass crystal. Box in need of restoration with upper lid torn free from hinge area and currently only very tenuously connected to lower portion of box by the torn and frayed inner silk liner, box otherwise showing mild light overall wear. Chain shows hardly any wear.
